MBC went on a casting spree and announced its main cast for upcoming series, Borg Mom.

The series revolves around a genius inventor who sets up an AI humanoid robot that can take the place of his deceased wife. Borg Mom will give a hilarious perspective on the outlandish world of the higher society as the genius inventor’s son an upscale kindergarten and forces her mother to mingle with supercilious samonims.

Leading the cast is Park Han-byul (I Have a Lover) who will portray the titular cyborg mother and will act opposite Yang Dong-geun (Missing Nine) who would play the role of the aloof inventor. Choi Jung-won (Shining Eun-soo) is also joining the cast and will play Yang Dong-geun’s trusted friend.

Produce 101’s Kwon Hyun-bin will also be trying his hand at acting and has accepted the role of a teacher in the upscale kindergarten.

Borg Mom has also cast veteran actors to play the group of social elite mothers including Choi Yeo-jin (On the Way to the Airport), Hwang Bo-ra (Blow Breeze), Ivy (Monstar), and Jung Yi-rang. The show will be helmed by former We Got Married PD Sun Hye-yoon.

Filming for the series is scheduled to begin at the end of the month and is slated to air sometime in September.
