(UPDATED) – KBS is planning to adapt into drama the novel Lingerie Girls’ Generation, and CNBLUE’s Lee Jong-hyun (My Only Love Song, Orange Marmalade) and WJSN’s Bona (The Best Hit) have already received offers to take on the lead roles.
If Bona accepts, she will play the role of Lee Jung-hee, a high school student whose family owns a toy factory. Meanwhile, no character descriptions have been released yet for the role offered to Lee Jong-hyun.
The novel is primarily set in a girls’ high school in 1970s Daegu, so I am thinking it will have some Reply or Sunny feels in it. It is a coming-of-age drama that will center on friendships, love, and mystery concerning the rising number of sexual assaults happening in Daegu, as well as the disappearances of several female workers at Lee family’s toy factory.
KBS is targeting to air the eight-episode Lingerie Girls’ Generation in September as a follow-up to School 2017.
