Young star Kim Yoo-jung has been offered to play the lead role in the seventh installment of KBS’s high school drama franchise, School 2017.

The School franchise started in 1999 and is known for tackling teen issues such as bullying at school and academic pressure. It also launched the career of several Hallyu stars such as Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook, Lee Jong-suk, and Kim Woo-bin, among others.

Kim Yoo-jung, who is considered one of today’s brightest young stars in dramaverse following the success of her recent drama Love in the Moonlight, is not new to playing student roles as she had previously portrayed one in Angry Mom and Thread of Lies.

School 2017 will be under the wings of PD Park Jin-suk (Naked Fireman) and writer Im Soo-mi (Let’s Eat franchise, Rude Miss Young-ae).

KBS targets to air School 2017 this July.
