It’s “you and me against the world” for our love birds. While the shippers are definitely rejoicing over the major developments in Kang Han-gyeol (Lee Hyun-woo) and Yoon So-rim’s (Joy of Red Velvet) romance (Remember their first kiss? Kyaaa!), several characters aren’t happy with it and pose a threat to set them apart.
First in the list is Seo Chan-young (Lee Seo-won), who’s now aware of Han-gyeol and So-rim’s relationship. He’s visibly upset when he learned about it straight from So-rim and asked her why it had to be Han-gyeol of all people. So-rim apologized to Chan-young for breaking her promise to him to put music above anything else, and said she can’t suppress her feelings for Han-gyeol as she likes him a lot. Chan-young said it’s alright for as long as she’s still his artist. Sometimes I wonder if Chan-young is really into So-rim or he’s just using her to make himself feel that he’s ahead of Han-gyeol for at least an aspect.
These two gents see each other more and more of a threat as the episodes go by. Chan-young thinks that Han-gyeol is getting in his way when it comes to producing music for Mush & Co, while Han-gyeol feels the same towards Chan-young when it comes to his relationship with So-rim.
Next in the list is Sole Music director Choi Jin-hyuk (Lee Jung-jin), who forbade both Han-gyeol and Chan-young from seeing So-rim for the meantime. This is after So-rim and the two of them got involved in a twin scandal, putting our heroine in a bad light as she’s thought to be two-timing the two guys. Mr. Choi is now also aware of Han-gyeol and So-rim’s relationship and told Han-gyeol he should’ve had handled it better if he wanted to keep it a secret. Well, I know that Mr. Choi doesn’t care much of who’s dating who for as long as his artist’s market value doesn’t get hurt. We all know too well how much this guy cares about business.
Last in the list is Baek Jin-woo (Song Kang), who is now determined more than ever to pursue So-rim with the support of Lee Kyu-seon (Park Jong-hyuk). If in the past episodes I’m torn with how I should feel towards Jin-woo’s antics to keep So-rim and Han-gyeol apart, I’m now finding it very funny and cute! ㅋㅋㅋ
The twin scandals took its toll not only on So-rim but also on her halmoni’s health. She fainted due to the combination of worry for So-rim who temporarily moved in with her Mush & Co bandmates and emotional burden after seeing news reports about So-rim’s alleged two-timing and hearing nasty comments about it from a couple of youngsters. I feel really bad for halmoni who was rushed to the hospital though the doctor said there’s nothing to worry about as she only needs rest.
Thank goodness because if not, I might want to pull Lee Su-jin’s (Jeon Yu-rim) hair because no one else should be blamed for it but her. Her petty dislike for Mush & Co led her to uploading photos of Han-gyeol and So-rim to the Internet, sparking the two-timing rumors. And it’s not the first time! Did she think she could get Chan-young’s attention by doing those childish things? I can’t believe this girl!
On the lighter note, I really like Yeon Soo-yeon sunbae (Lee Ha-eun) because she protects and supports our love birds. I also look forward to how the side love story between her and Crude Play’s Yoo Shi-hyun (Kim Sung-joo) will blossom into a full-blown romance.
Let’s see whether Mush & Co’s TV performance in the next episode will push Han-gyeol and Chan-young’s competition to the limit. Tune in!
