After Cha Jin-wook (Sung Hoon) defended Lee Yoo-mi (Song Ji-eun) from the antics of his crazy-not-even-a-girlfriend Joo Hye-ri, our handsome director went out on a pseudo date with Yoo-mi. Of course, Jin-wook denied they were on a real date. He said he was just simply giving Yoo-mi some ideas of cuisines he likes to eat.
Fine, Jin-wook’s excuses about their ‘date’ are not mere denials. Their date actually has a purpose. They actually served Yoo-mi’s version of the chopped steak to the executives who suddenly visited the company cafeteria. Jin-wook used it as an opportunity to stop the plan of one of the executives to replace all of the kitchen staff. As someone who really likes company politics (or societal heirarchies on saeguk), I was left hanging for more. But I think this is not the right series to look for such element (recommended watch: Radiant Office).
Yoo-mi and her friend, Jung Hyun Tae, went for a motorcycle ride. They spent time talking at Yoo-mi’s getaway park. I really like how comfortable Yoo-mi is with Hyun-tae. And I’m beginning to think my theory about Yoo-mi’s crush Hyun-tae is wrong. I’m starting to believe Hyun-tae also have hidden feelings towards Yoo-mi (or is it just me?). I got this idea because Hyun-tae suddenly pretended he was on a date with Yoo-mi when a girl asked for his number; a good foreshadowing for the episode’s ending scene.
Coming from a business meeting, Jin-wook suddenly missed Yoo-mi’s simple cooking (yeah, yeah he didn’t say it directly but you know what I mean.) So, Jin-wook decided to call Yoo-mi but it was Dong-goo who answered the phone. Yoo-mi came out from the shower and explained she was just murmuring in her sleep. Hmm, she could just said it was her little brother but Dong-goo will probably be used later on the story.
Yoo-mi and Dong-goo went to Jin-wook’s house. Our curious nutritionist walked around the house and noticed most of the rooms were empty except for Jin-wook’s study and living room areas. Ugh, this hints are making me impatient to know what Jin-wook’s background is. He shouldn’t just be your handsome and at-times jerk oppa. Anyway, as Yoo-mi prepared some sandwiches for Jin-wook, Dong-goo broke Jin-wook’s treasure box on his study room. Its content? The breast implant Yoo-mi’s mother forced her to wear during her wedding. You know I watched this episode while on my way home and I fought hard not to laugh out loud when Jin-wook revealed the box’s content. Oh by the way, Yoo-mi gave back Jin-wook’s other precious possession: his 100% wool beige coat.
Meanwhile, Joo Hye-ri prepared home-cooked lunch for Jin-wook’s father. She also casually mentioned Jin-wook is living off of cafeteria lunches. This made Jin-wook’s father insist he should get married. Jin-wook was quick to retort that he shouldn’t get married just to have a woman cook for him (bonus point for oppa who knows what marriage really means.) Hye-ri is starting to shed off her cute appearance and started making sly moves towards Jin-wook. But at least our male lead is adamant on refusing her.
Our meticulous chaebol finally noticed that something is wrong with his treasure box. He also found Dong-goo’s stuffed toy on the floor. He put two and two together and figured out it was Yoo-mi who broke the box. Jin-wook furiously went to Yoo-mi’s place and the hilarious banter started. They weren’t arguing about the same thing. Yoo-mi assumed Jin-wook’s box contained a diamond while Jin-wook thought Yoo-mi was making fun of him for keeping a breast implant for three years.
