Lee Dong-gun’s (Laurel Tree Tailors) management has confirmed that the actor is considering the offer for him to portray as the tyrant king Yeonsangun in KBS’s romance-melo-sageuk Seven Day Queen.

Should Lee Dong-gun accept the role, he will be acting alongside with Yeon Woo-jin (Introverted Boss) and Park Min-young (Remember: War of the Sons), who will play as King Jungjong and Queen Dangyeong, respectively.

This drama is believed to give Lee Dong-gun a chance to showcase another side of his acting as he usually plays gentlemanly, nice-guy roles. Hopes are also high that this project will provide him a mid-career jolt following his average-performing dramas Super Daddy Yeol, Mi-rae’s Choice, and When Night Comes. Though his recent weekend drama Laurel Tree Tailors did pretty well.

Seven Day Queen, which will revolve around the sad love story of King Jungjong and Queen Dangyeong, and politics of course, comes from PD Lee Jung-sub of Healer, Baker King Kim Tak-gu, and Hong Gil-dong. It is set to premiere on a Wednesday-Thursday schedule in June.
